Shooting The Moon

She was (almost) always going for the big risk, big reward play. She'd save up a little cash then invest it in her friends' crazy schemes, she'd always go for all the hearts in games of Hearts, she always tested her luck.

Except with me, of course. I was her one safe bet, her rock. I tolerated and supported her risks since they often were fun.

But in my job, I buckled down and studied the sciences until eventually they picked me to help colonize the moon.

And thus bring her along, proving I was not technically a safe bet.
