I stared at the scroll for so long that the high priestess leaned over.
"There a problem?"
I replied without looking at her.
"Imagine you've spent your entire life being told you have a Destiny, with a big D. That you're going to be a powerful figure working for the gods. But when it comes time to say the words, you realise that you're worried about the rest of your life. What would you do my place?"
"What I did in your place was say the words then spend most nights drunk with the fountain maidens."
I said the words.
