Non-Drabble: "Discworld: Streets Of Anhk-Morpork" (Fiasco Game Module)

Previously on this blog, I have shared with you Fiasco game modules I have written/run at RPG cons down here in Australia, Star Trek - Fargo Station and Fallout: New Vegas - Dishonest Hearts specifically. Well, time has come for another one, this one set in the Discworld universe. Intro and link just over the page break...

(Tilt and aftermath tables are the same as the base game.)

Short Break (4-7 October)

Hey all, just a quick note to say I'm taking a short break so as to focus on the RPG con I'm attending/running a game at across the long weekend here. There will be no new Drabble for a few days, my intention is to resume on Tuesday the 8th of October, as well as post the new Fiasco module I just finished running. Thanks for reading, see you soon!

Non-Drabble: 200 Word RPG Challenge Entry 1.2: Self Sacrfice

(Author's Note: So there's a yearly challenge to create an RPG in 200 words. This is my effort at doing one, at least the first draft so I can share it around and see if people like it and/or it can be improved. If you're interested, the page for the challenge is rightchere!

Non-Drabble: "Fallout: New Vegas 'Dishonest Hearts'" (Fiasco Game Module)

A long time ago, I shared a Fiasco module set in the Star Trek universe I'd written here. I've now written another one for a con that has now finished, based on the Fallout: New Vegas setting.

"Fiasco" is an awesome storytelling RPG that is sometimes known as 'The Coen Brothers RPG' in that it's built around creating characters with big dreams and small brains, setting up an awesome plan to get rich and successful and then horribly, horribly screwing it all up.  Now, obviously I don't own the Fallout universe or any of the related properties and such, nor do I own the Fiasco system, no claim is made to owning either, and this is published under fair use with no attempt to claim ownership of the properties. Should you own either property and want this taken down, by all means let me know and I'll do so.

For more information on the "Fiasco" system, as well as purchasing it (you'll need it to use this module after all), you can find that right here!

The module would be right here for you to download! It uses the standard tilt table, and all that. Enjoy!

Site News: Unexplained Absence

Hey everyone, just a quick note. Sorry about the sudden and unexplained lack of posts. I developed a viral infection on Australia Day, and was unable to get to my computer or do much of anything for a few days. By the time I was okish, I had stuff to take care of, so I was unable to write anything. Later tonight will be the return of the Drabbles, with this year's Rumble entry. Thank you for understanding!

Other Work: Wrestling Plot Hole Repair Job Beta

(So, added bonus today. This is a draft version of a wrestling column idea I tossed around a while back, the idea being that it would go on a different site to 411mania where I do Ask 411 Wrestling each week. Don't get me wrong, I love writing that column and for 411mania, but at the time I wanted to expands a bit. I sent this around to a couple places but it never really caught anyone's attention, so here it is, maybe you will like it...)

Site News: Bond. James Bond

Just a line to indicate, as if it's not obvious, that I'm starting a short series over Easter and the following week of Drabbles based on the James Bond movies, or at least the titles, the actual stories have nothing with them, since I've only seen a couple.

Cheers!

Non-Drabble: Explanation

Yesterday there was no Drabble. This was due to a timing issue, which I apologise for. Today will see two Drabbles posted, to make up for the gap, and we will return to our regularly scheduled schedule from tomorrow. Thank you.

Site News: Contest Entries

Just a heads up, today and tomorrow's Drabbles were entries into a global contest that I obviously didn't win, since believe me, you'd have heard me explode with delight had I done so. Since the contest is now over I can post them on here, and then maybe post a follow up Drabble on Saturday, maybe.

Now taking you back to your regularly scheduled Drabbles.

Site News: Back To Normal

So yeah, the Rumble month has ended, and it went well, I think. I hope you enjoyed them, I certainly did. Anyway, just a short note to let you know starting tonight we're back to your usual Drabble writing. I'm sure you would have noticed, but I just wanted to be sure. Cheers!

Site News: The Rumble

So just a quick heads up/explanation for the upcoming month. Due to work and personal life I'm doing another theme run, in this case I'll be writing almost 30 or so Drabbles based on the list of men who have won the WWE's Royal Rumble match.

However, given that unlike past theme lists this list would be too restrictive if I just used names, instead each Drabble will be based on part of their name or gimmick or catchphrase or some such. I'm sure you'll pick it up. We'll be ending near the end of the month, right after the 2015 Royal Rumble.

Thanks!

Site News: End of Challenge Week 3

And thus Challenge Week 3 comes to a close, thanks for reading and for all the suggestions.

Despite leaving on a trip for a few days, there should still be Drabbles for every day as I'm preloading them. Should be some good ones in there.

Once again, thanks for reading, this is very much a personal challenge but to know people (presumably) enjoy my work is always gratifying.

Site News: Challenge Week 3: With A Verbage

So, starting tomorrow, we're doing another challenge week where every Drabble is based on a suggestion from a reader. If you have a phrase or word you want to toss at me, do so below or via Twitter (@MassiveQ) and I'll give it a go. Cheers!

Site News/Non-Drabble: #whatsnext and End of Book 1

So two main things, both related to the story below. First is that it's a sorta-kinda-pseudo reference/tribute to the #whatsnext experiment, where thanks to BBC First, Gracie Otto was curator in a drama story written via twitter by the public. I was all over that, and even managed to get the last word (although to be fair, the last word was somewhat obvious). So, if you want to read that and see all my stuff that got in, you can check that out here!

Plus now I can say I've collaborated with Gracie Otto and Megan Washington and a whole lot of people!

Anyway, the story also marks the point where I'm going to end my first e-book of these things. There won't be any pause to the Drabbles, there will be one tomorrow and so on, but this is where the first book will end. I'll be setting up a Kickstarter soon for it, never know your luck.

Thanks for reading, and see you tomorrow!

Non-Drabble: Ask 411 Ultimate Summerslam List

So if you weren't aware, I write Ask 411 Wrestling at 411mania every week. Right now we're beginning a thing were the readers will book an Ultimate Summerslam. To do that, they need the list of available candidates. That would be this list here...

Non-Drabble: 'Star Trek: Fargo Station' (Fiasco Game Module)

So over the Easter Long Weekend, I attended Eyecon 2014, one of Sydney's biggest and best RPG conventions. And there I ran several sessions of a "Fiasco" game I'd written, 'Star Trek: Fargo Station'.

"Fiasco" is an awesome storytelling RPG that is sometimes known as 'The Coen Brothers RPG' in that it's built around creating characters with big dreams and small brains, setting up an awesome plan to get rich and successful and then horribly, horribly screwing it all up. My module seemed popular, so I'm sharing it with the world for free. Now, obviously I don't own the Star Trek universe or any of the related properties and such, nor do I own the Fiasco system, no claim is made to owning either, and this is published under fair use with no attempt to claim ownership of the properties. Should you own either property and want this taken down, by all means let me know and I'll do so.

For more information on the "Fiasco" system, as well as purchasing it (you'll need it to use this module after all), you can find that right here!

The file is on Google Drive, just clicky the linky!

And here's the prologue, to set the mood...

Site News: Donation Button Online

So yeah, I now have a donation button up there in the top right. If I've done anything you've enjoyed, be is Ask 411 Wrestling or this blog or a podcast or the Evolution Schematics or anything right back to my Sid Meier SimGolf stories, and you've wanted to buy me a drink, consider that a way to do so virtually. But I will never hold the site to ransom or demand money, it's just there if you want to. I'm cool either way.

Although any donation will get you a topic to give me for a Drabble, if you want. But again, zero pressure or insistence. Just there if you wanna.

Thanks for reading and supporting me!

Non-Drabble: 'A League Of Their Own' TV appearance

Ok, due to the silly nature of how I can put videos here, I can't embed it, but I appeared on 'A League Of Their Own' this week as Massive Q.

Here it is!

It was pretty cool, as I got to beat up an Olympic Gold Medallist and all...

Non-Drabble: Gronak debuts in #7DaysLater Ep 2

So as I posted before, #7DaysLater made a short film in 7 days and they needed an Alien name and they went with Gronak from my suggestion.

They even got the pronunciation 'right'.

So yeah, Reflected Glory and all that.

Here's the link since I can't embed right this second, apparently.

Thank you #7DaysLater.
