When you’re my age, you have to do things in stages. So if
you have to walk from home to the church, you leave early and stop for a rest
in the park halfway along.
And while I sat getting my breath back, I saw these drunken
teenagers, clearly on the way home from a night out. They were stumbling
around, screaming and laughing, clearly enjoying themselves.
It got me thinking, about the years I spent playing it safe,
never taking stupid risks, never letting go. How I always stayed quiet, safe
and, well, boring.
I don’t regret it.
