I couldn’t trust the targeting computer to take the shot, just
in case they missed. If I missed, I could hate myself, I’d been doing that forever,
but I needed to have faith in my tools, even if that meant, for this one time,
I had to not use them.
So instead I flew out to the belt myself, and chose the best
asteroid for the job, and spent several hours going over the numbers before I
finally turned on the solar engine.
It was the tensest week of my life, until it finally landed,
setting off the extinction event.
