A hermit crab was always on the lookout for the newest and
biggest shell he could find. Like all his friends he needed to get a bigger
shell every so often, but this crab would move to a bigger shell whenever he
found one, even if he didn’t need it. Anything larger and better than what he
was using, he’d take. But eventually he found what he thought was the biggest
and best shell he’d ever seen. When he latched onto it, he found out it was too
heavy and he starved away.
“The newest and shiniest bauble isn’t essential.”
