The first thing Maxine ever said to John was “You’re doing
it all wrong, lift with your knees, stupid.”
The first time John asked Maxine on a date, she laughed in
his face.
The first demand Maxine had for the wedding was that she get
the traditionally male vows to say.
The first born was named Max, while the second was named Amy,
after Maxine’s middle name.
The last thing Maxine told John from her deathbed was “Overall,
you were OK, I guess.”
The first thing John felt after that moment was panic. What
the hell did he do now?
