Not How It Works

The holoplay was just getting to the good bit, where the main character was going to get the job she'd always wanted.

"That's bullshit."

"What?"

"She's only getting the job because she's a woman."

"That's not how it works."

"Sure it is! Like how you didn't get that promotion because you're white!"

"That's not how it works anymore! Most of that type of thinking is gone, and people aren't like that! Took long enough but..."

"OK, bored now. Give me control of the body."

"Can you at least wait till the holoplay is over?"
