Unnatural Order

The cycle of history turns on the major moments, it is assumed. The death and rise of monarchs, the bloody wars, the deadly plagues. The interesting moments are the ones that are important.

And while periods of stability and peace are seen as good things, they are also glossed over, they get the “for many years” treatment. The lives spent in relative peace and happiness are seen as being pleasant, but meaningless.

And while many lives are indeed pleasant but meaningless, the fact is, peace should really be venerated more than it is.

Because it sure as hell ain’t natural.
