His life was fairly strictly ordered, and not by choice.
He was aware of his limitations, and knew the job he had
approving expense claims for a company larger than most sovereign nations was
the best he could maintain. The pay was just enough for his apartment,
transport, food, and not much else.
So every day was either focused on work, or on not wasting
money he didn’t have, hence the strict order.
But every day, he would read a quote from his ‘Quote-A-Day’ calendar.
Just not THAT day’s quote.
A small act of rebellion, yes, but it was enough.
