Across the majority of Humanity’s existence, I’ve beaten the
spread. Today, sure, I’m less than halfway to the average, but in most times in
the past, to get to my age meant I’ve passed the point where I could expect to
die, on average.
I don’t take this lightly, by any means. I’m very lucky to
live in a time frame where we’ve sorted out a lot of the major issues of basic survival.
I truly appreciate that.
Now yes, maybe the future will be brighter and more wonderful
and I’d have lived to be 1000.
But today? I’m happy.
