There wasn't much to do but wait as I was assigned my new position in the new colony.
Some people might actually appreciate having their future so out of their hands, being able to spend the rest of their lives knowing they couldn't have done anything different, but not me. The fact that I couldn't alter the outcome would haunt me as long as-
The woman came back into the room with a clipboard.
"So Mr. Brown, ready to start managing?"
The fact I had a choice to correct her or not made me feel better. I chose not to.
