The Clockwork Man does not think, like you or I do. He lacks the ability to do so. He merely repeats what he has been programmed to do, with adjustments as required. The Clockwork Man is a feat of engineering, do not misunderstand me, but you cannot expect him to be able to grasp complex concepts, to appreciate art, to truly love.
He simply cannot do so. You may be able to approximate such feelings with more programming, but true enlightenment is impossible. Just accept this, my dear, and forget this damn silly notion that you can love an accountant.
