“… till death do you part?”
She paused, and looked out across the assorted guests.
“I do.”
There was applause, and several sighs of relief.
The ceremony continued like clockwork, the cake, the
dancing, the celebration. And then came the honeymoon, and then a life of
wedded ‘bliss’.
And she didn’t hate it, far from it. She was content, and
raised a family, and even got the hang of baking.
But every day, for a few moments, she’d wonder. She knew it
was crazy, knew that she did the right, smart thing, but what if…
What if she said no?
