My little world started to reveal itself to me.
Slowly at first, the mist clearing
as waters receded, lands formed, life began to form.
I watched, transfixed, as in the
blink of an eye the life went from barely moving single cells to multi-cell
organisms, and then more and more complexity arose as every creature strived to
become more, become greater.
I tried to keep my hands off, but I
couldn’t resist a nudge there, a tinker there. Maybe I included too many
beetles, but I liked them.
And then, finally, true
intelligence formed.
And it killed my little world.
