Eventually they just became numbers on the screen.
They always were numbers on the screen, in graphs and the
like, don’t get me wrong. But when I started, there was still a mental
connection. Each line was the share price, which was a share of a company,
which, while not technically a physical thing, still led to physical people
doing jobs, having a livelihood, putting food on the table and all that.
The connection lasted a while, until eventually, I stopped
thinking of it like that, and just saw numbers to bet on.
That was when I became really successful.
