I swore to never fall in love. I’d seen far too many good
men and women fall into the trap of valuing one specific life over their duty
to protect as many as possible. Enjoying sex, intimacy, that’s all right, but
far too many lives were lost thanks to stupid value judgements about saving
their woman, their man, over saving many lives.
At this point, I’m sure, you’re expecting me to say
something about how I then met someone, and how that all changed.
Well, her name was Clarissa. And pushing her away, yeah,
that was tough.
But I managed.
