Most people don’t get to know ahead of time when the speeding train, metaphorical or not, will hit them. Those that do, they tend to, you know, get out of the way.
Well, you can’t always do that. Sometimes even with lots of warning, you’re stuck there on the tracks, and no matter how much you struggle or try to get out of it, all you can do is wait for the train to slam into you.
My train was metaphorical, and I had three weeks notice.
But sometimes it turns out that between you and the train, you win.
