The saying goes that too many people want to have written
rather than actually write. You could adjust it to suit pretty much any
artistic field, there are plenty of people who would like to be a rock star or
an in-demand photographer or video game genius or whatever, but only a tiny
fraction of those have the drive to actually sit down and work at it like any
skill. Being a prodigy is all well and good, but even they have to practice.
For those that don’t, they have their dreams.
