Empathy isn’t as easy as some people claim it to be.
I mean, being empathic to someone who has roughly the same upbringing, same outlook, someone that shares several identifiers with you, that’s easy. And with effort, you can learn to be able to empathise with someone of a different gender, different race.
But to be able to empathise with a creature that died millions of years ago, to understand how they felt, that’s impossible.
And yet, the moment they looked up and saw a meteor heading toward them, nothing they could do, and seeing society today?
Maybe I can.
