Father, for as long as I could remember, had been making
mead in the basement. He liked it, and it was pretty hard to find for sale in
these parts.
Then Prohibition came in.
Suddenly Father became a very popular man, although he had
to move his buckets from the basement to an empty house owned by a local
policeman. For years, Father made mead for anyone who gave him supplies, or
enough money for supplies. He never took a dime in profit, neither.
That’s why he’s called ‘Sweet Harry MÅ‚ynarski’ in the papers
reporting on him getting gunned down.
