Almost every dominate culture on almost every planet has a similar myth about the being who came from above, bearing gifts.
The details change, apart from the obvious ones about how the being looks to match the culture's ideal of their species. Sometimes they bring abstract concepts, they bring wisdom or truth. Sometimes the being brings something more practical, weapons, or a food source.
But the one consistent thing about them all is the reasoning. The gift is always to help them become better, for a specific reason, a specific eight words.
"You need to be able to stop humanity."
