You’ve heard the old line about civilisation only being a
few meals away from anarchy, yes? Some people say three square meals, some say
two meals and twenty-four hours, some are generous and give it nine whole meals.
There’s also debate about if it’s anarchy or merely barbarianism, but overall,
the point is clear, that society rests on a knife edge, and a breakdown in
essential services is all it will take for it to crumble. Truth is, it’s not
that bad, humans are conditioned, evolved, to survive famine.
A coffee shortage, on the other hand, that’s much more
serious.
