It was right after we were no longer employees of the store.
She was filling out the final paperwork while I stared at the key.
“Eight years, still don’t know what this is for.”
“Huah?”
“This key. Was on the keyring with my locker, doesn’t fit
anything in the store. I was really hoping for a payoff for it.”
I tossed it to her, she went to catch it, tripped on a box
and fell over. I heard a clicking sound.
“Did you open something?”
“I think I just broke my ankle.”
Luckily the payoff from the lawsuit was huge.
