There are not, as some have claimed and others have hoped,
an infinite number of universes. There are, in fact, surprisingly few of them, only
a few trillion or so.
Most are barren, just energy spread thinly across the empty void
of nothingness.
A few billion have life, at least life that is comprehendible.
A few million have intelligent life, that can actually
comprehend.
A few hundred have humans, on this planet, in this part of
the universe.
A few dozen have me.
Only one has you.
A lonely ratio, to be sure, but given the result, I’ll take
it.
