Pseudo-Armageddon



The room is small, cramped, too many displays and not enough empty space to allow the eye to rest. But then, the whole point is for eyes to never rest in here.

Most people only last a few weeks of it, even with two hour days. There’s only so much the human mind can take of all that information, all that data, and all that responsibility.

That’s why the big red button doesn’t just set everything off. Eventually, if you don’t supervise closely enough, people will press it just to end their struggle.

Rather than when everyone isn’t struggling enough.
