Slowly Shooting Star

It was too small to really be called a moon, all things considered. Plus the slowness of its orbit would cause much discussion of how to classify it, scientifically speaking.

For millions of years, it just spun slowly, and moved around the planet beneath it, normally just out of sight with the naked eye. But every fifty or so rotations of the planet around its star, it would come just close enough to be visible as it moved across the sky, slowly.

Wise men and women knew this.

So many holy wars started due to this predictable sign from God.
