The Indirect Journey

Had he gone straight, every step taken being one directly towards his final destination, it would have been over quickly.

This would have saved him time, a lot of it, but it also would have avoided a lot of pain and hardship. So many troubles and problems that he encountered on his journey, avoidable by just going directly.

But then so many friendships formed, joys, loves, wonderous sights, amazing experiences, all achieved because he took the ‘scenic’ route.

He’d have forgotten most of the direct route later in his life. But the indirect one gave him a life worth having.
